Terms of Service

Last updated: October 3, 2026

These terms cover your use of Honey Bun — the iOS app with its widgets and Apple Watch app, the Alexa skill, and the website and web app at honeybun.family. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to what's below. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

What Honey Bun is

Honey Bun is a personal-use tracker for infant care — feedings, diaper changes, sleep, medicine doses, growth, notes and milestones, and related caregiver activities — with a shared chat and schedule for the people who care for the child. It is a record-keeping convenience, not a medical service.

Honey Bun is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition. Nothing the app says, calculates, summarizes, or generates is medical advice. For any health concern about you or your child, consult a licensed pediatrician. Do not delay seeking medical care because of anything Honey Bun showed you.

Your account

You need an account to use Honey Bun. You can create one by signing in with Apple or Google, or with an email address and a password. You are responsible for keeping that sign-in secure: if someone else gets into your Apple ID, your Google account, or your email and password, they will be able to reach your Honey Bun data.

Your Honey Bun account is a Pliske ID, the sign-in the developer of Honey Bun runs for all of his apps. The same sign-in, name and photo work across those apps, and deleting it deletes your account in each of them.

Honey Bun is for adults 18 and over. Parents and caregivers use it to keep a record about a child; children are not its users.

Sharing with other caregivers

Each caregiver has their own account, and these terms apply to each of them. The person who creates a child's record owns it. The owner can add other caregivers (a partner, a grandparent, a sitter) with a connect code, choose whether each has full or restricted access, and remove them.

Everyone on a child's care team can see that child's logs, notes, milestones, chat messages, photos and videos, and each other's name, photo, email address and Rewards. Only add people you trust with that, and only post things in the chat you are happy for the whole care team to see. If the owner deletes their account, the child's record is deleted for everyone. If another caregiver leaves or deletes their account, what they logged stays in the child's record.

Optional connections

Linking Alexa, connecting your pediatrician's MyChart, and using Siri or Shortcuts are all optional. Those services are run by Amazon, by Epic and your clinic, and by Apple, under their own terms. Honey Bun only reads from MyChart; it never writes to your child's chart, and what it shows from the chart may be incomplete or out of date. Your clinic remains the source of truth.

Acceptable use

Use Honey Bun only for legitimate personal or family infant-care tracking. You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the app.
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems, or circumvent any security feature.
  • Scrape, automate, or otherwise interact with our servers outside the intended app experience.
  • Upload content that is unlawful, abusive, harassing, or that infringes another person's rights.
  • Resell, sublicense, or commercially distribute the service.

AI assistant and voice features

The in-app AI assistant (Ask Honey Bun, @honeybun in Chat, the weekly summary and the age-based guides) and the support assistant in Help & feedback generate responses based on your logged data and the content of your messages. Those responses are produced by a third-party language model, Anthropic's Claude, and may be wrong, incomplete, or out of date. If you ask it to, Ask Honey Bun can log a feed, a diaper or a medicine dose for you; check that it recorded what you meant. Voice features (Alexa, Siri) answer from your logs and can mishear you. Use your own judgment, and never substitute the assistant's answers for medical advice. We're not liable for decisions you make based on AI-generated content.

Honey Bun Premium subscription

Honey Bun is free to download and free to use for tracking: logging, history, reminders, sharing with other caregivers, family chat, the medicine log, doctor notes, growth charts and reading from MyChart. Honey Bun Premium is an optional subscription that adds extra features, which are listed in the app before you subscribe. What it includes may change over time.

  • Price and payment. Honey Bun Premium is sold in the iOS app, by the month or by the year. The price for your country is shown in the app before you buy. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
  • Automatic renewal. The subscription renews automatically for the same period, at the price then in effect, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. If the price changes, Apple will tell you beforehand and, where required, ask you to agree.
  • Cancelling. You can cancel at any time in your iPhone's Settings, under your name, then Subscriptions, or from Settings, Honey Bun Premium, Manage in the app. After you cancel, the subscription stays active until the end of the period you already paid for and does not renew. Deleting the app or your Honey Bun account does not cancel a subscription; cancel it with Apple first.
  • Refunds. Purchases are processed by Apple, and refunds are handled by Apple under its own policies. To ask for one, go to reportaproblem.apple.com. We can't issue refunds for App Store purchases ourselves, and we don't refund part of a period.
  • Free trial. Each new family gets 14 days of Honey Bun Premium free, once, starting when the account adds its first child. It needs no payment details, it ends by itself, and it never turns into a paid subscription: you are charged only if you choose to subscribe.
  • Families who joined early. If your family was using Honey Bun before Honey Bun Premium went on sale, the app shows your plan as "Included for good". The children on that account keep everything in Honey Bun Premium at no charge for as long as we offer Honey Bun, including features added to it later. This stays with the account that owns the child's record: it can't be transferred or sold, it has no cash value, and it ends if that account is deleted.
  • Who is covered. One subscription covers the children on the subscriber's account and every caregiver they have shared those children with. A child's owner, or a co-parent with full access, can subscribe. A co-parent's subscription also covers the children they co-parent with full access, for as long as they keep that access. Other caregivers are never asked to pay. A purchase belongs to the Honey Bun account that made it and can't be moved to another one. Apple's Family Sharing does not apply; sharing happens inside Honey Bun.
  • When a subscription or trial ends. Nothing you logged is deleted, and the free features keep working. The extra features stop until you subscribe again; if Apple refunds a purchase, they stop right away. Ask Honey Bun, including @honeybun in family chat, then allows a small number of free questions per family (currently 4 in total). Past answers stay readable, family chat keeps working for everyone, and things you already collected or earned in Rewards are kept.
  • Honey drops and rewards. Honey drops, items and other rewards in the app are earned by using it. Honey Bun Premium members earn more honey drops in each season and can collect items reserved for members, and some extra features (such as widgets and the Apple Watch app) can also be unlocked by keeping a long streak. Honey drops and items can't be bought directly, sold or transferred, and they have no cash value.

Your data

How we handle the data you create in Honey Bun is described in our Privacy Policy. You retain ownership of the content you log; you grant us a limited license to host, transmit, and display it back to you and your linked caregivers as needed to operate the service.

Service availability

We aim to keep Honey Bun running reliably, but we make no guarantee of uptime, latency, or specific functionality. Features may change, be removed, or be temporarily unavailable. We may perform maintenance or push updates that briefly interrupt service.

Termination

You can stop using Honey Bun at any time. To remove your account and your data, open the iPhone app, go to Settings, tap the (i) next to Account, then Delete account; or follow the steps at honeybun.family/delete-account. This deletes your Pliske ID, so it also removes your account in the developer's other apps, and it deletes any child you own for every caregiver on that child. The Privacy Policy lists what is removed and what stays. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, that we reasonably believe are being used for fraud or abuse, or where required by law.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Honey Bun is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind — express or implied — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Honey Bun, its operator, and its contributors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost profits, or business interruption arising out of your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim related to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the prior twelve months (which is currently zero) or $50 USD.

Apple App Store

If you obtained the Honey Bun iOS app through Apple's App Store, you also agree to Apple's Standard End User License Agreement. Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for the app or its support; however, Apple is a third-party beneficiary entitled to enforce them.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Missouri, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.

Changes

We may update these terms over time. If a change is material, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and notify you in the app the next time you open it. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
