Switching baby trackers

Looking for a Huckleberry alternative?

Honey Bun is a baby tracker for iPhone, iPad and the web, made by one dad. This page says what Honey Bun does, what is free, and how to bring your Huckleberry history with you.

It doesn't describe Huckleberry. Their own website is the place to check what their app does and costs today, and we would rather not get it wrong.

What Honey Bun does

One log, shared with sitters and family

Invite your partner, grandparents and sitters with a code and give each one a role. Everyone sees each feed, diaper and nap a moment after it is logged, with who logged it. A sitter can change only their own entries. Sharing and the family chat, with photos and videos, are free.

The Story

A timeline from the day your baby was born: your photos, Milestones and the facts in between, like weigh-ins and longer nights. Slide to any age, and put a newborn photo beside today's with Then and now.

Growth and doctor prep

Weight, length and head size on the WHO growth curves, which you can share with your pediatrician in a tap. Visit prep gathers what changed since the last appointment. If your clinic uses MyChart, a parent can connect it to read the chart's records.

Hands-free logging with Alexa and Siri

Say "Alexa, ask Honey Bun skill to log a dirty diaper" from across the room, or "Hey Siri, log a feed in Honey Bun" on your iPhone. Both are part of Honey Bun Premium, or can be earned with a logging streak in Rewards.

The daily gift

Open one box a day for honey drops, a sticker or, now and then, something rare. A logging streak walks the Honey Trail and fills a Collection. It is a small reward for a tiring job, and you can ignore it entirely.

Screenshots and the video show a demo family. The baby photos in them are AI-generated.

Bring your Huckleberry history

You don't have to start from an empty log. Honey Bun reads the CSV file that Huckleberry exports. What comes across: feeds, diapers, sleep and medicine from a CSV export.

  1. In the Honey Bun iPhone app, open Settings, then Import from another app, and choose Huckleberry.
  2. Follow the steps shown there to export your tracking data as a CSV file and save it to your iPhone.
  3. Pick the file. Its entries are added to your baby's log.

Each child has their own file. A parent, or a caregiver with full access, does the import.

Importing is done in the iPhone app, not on the web. Using a different app? Tell us which one, so we know what to add next.

What is free

Logging, reminders, sharing, family chat and growth charts are free. Honey Bun Premium is an optional subscription for the extras, on one plan for the whole family. Every new family gets30 days of it free, with no card. There are no ads, and your data is never sold.
