Honey Bun on Alexa
Log feeds, diapers, and medicine hands-free on any Echo device.
Enable the Honey Bun skill
The Honey Bun skill is live in the Alexa Skills Store. Enable it once, link your account, and any Echo in the house can log feeds, diapers, and medicine.
Alexa is part of Honey Bun Premium
Every new family gets Alexa free for 14 days. After that it needs Honey Bun Premium, or a 60-day logging streak, which unlocks it for good.
Premium is bought in the Honey Bun iPhone app. One plan covers the whole family. Without it, Alexa answers "That's part of Honey Bun Premium."
What you can say
Say "Honey Bun skill", with the word "skill". Newer Alexa devices do not always open Honey Bun without it.
Logging
- "Alexa, ask Honey Bun skill to log 3 ounces of formula."
- "Alexa, ask Honey Bun skill to log a wet diaper."
- "Alexa, ask Honey Bun skill to log a dose of Tylenol."
Asking
- "Alexa, ask Honey Bun skill when was the last feeding."
- "Alexa, ask Honey Bun skill how many feeds today."
- "Alexa, ask Honey Bun skill when is the next feeding."
Linking your account
You link once, with a code from the Honey Bun iPhone app that you type into the Alexa app. Five steps:
- In the Honey Bun iPhone app, open Settings → Alexa and tap Generate Code. The 6-digit code lasts 10 minutes.
- Tap Set Up Alexa Skill. This opens the Alexa app.
- Enable the Honey Bun skill and tap Link Account.
- Type your 6-digit code when asked.
- Go back to Honey Bun. A green "Linked" badge confirms it worked.
The code is typed, not spoken: Alexa has no voice command for pairing. Once linked, it works on every Echo on your Amazon account.
